NEW BLACKHAWK! Desert Ops Boots Review by Patriot Outfitters

I posted a boot review on YouTube today. Check it out.

The intro is a bit long but the video is in HD, so you can really get a good look at the boot.

I have a pair of these boots and love them. There is still snow on the ground here in Kansas so whenever I go out I put them on. (even if I happen to be wearing sport pant :)

Usually I wear my cross-trainers everywhere I go - just because I am running around most of the day, but I will take my Nike’s off anytime just to keep my feet dry…

I seem to tip-toe around the snow and slush with my cross-trainers but don’t worry about anything when I have my BlackHawk Desert Ops Boots on.

Hope you enjoy the video.

BlackHawk Desert Ops Boot Review

Welcome!  This is a Patriot Outfitters review of the extremely popular BlackHawk desert ops boot.

These boots were designed for the military wearer BY military guys that have been-there and done-that.

The Desert Ops Boot features an oil-resistant Vibram outsole that, in addition to being really flexible, also provides excellent traction is all kinds of nasty terrain.

The pattern on the sole has big, open lugs which are great for getting traction when climbing and making sure mud doesn’t build up in the tread of your boot.

BlackHawk decided to use custom molded Ortholite insoles – which I have to tell you make a world of difference on your feet.  Those things really help with foot fatigue.

Running the length of the boot is a steel shank to provide extra support, which also helps fight foot fatigue.

The upper is made of a tough-as-nails nylon that is lightweight and breathable.  The toe and heal pads are made out of scuff and water resistant suede.

And inside the Desert Ops Boot is the Dri-Lex lining that wicks away sweat and water, which is great for keeping your boot dry and more importantly keeping your foot dry.

The fully gusseted tongue keeps debris from getting inside your boot, and a Nilon loop on the back helps you pull the boots on.

So, I’ve got to say that overall, not only is the BlackHawk Desert Ops Boot a great looking boot, it is very comfortable and built to take punishment.

Thanks for reading...

Oakley Ballistic M-Frame 2.0 Hybrid

Oakley began with an “O”

Although the Oakley name can be attributed to Jim Jannard’s English Setter, it was Oakley’s first pair of goggles released in 1980 named the O-Frame that began Oakley on a path to being the undisputed leader in high performance eyewear that it is today.

Oakley is an American company based in Orange County, California. Founded in 1975, Oakley now has more than 600 patents and leading products including premium sunglasses, goggles, prescription eyewear, apparel, footwear and accessories.

Prepared for Impact

Oakley eyewear is considered to be the best protective eyewear on the market, or as Oakley would say - "the best on the planet."

All Oakley sunglasses exceed Industrial Standards for impact protection. ANSI Z87.1 is the current standard for measuring safety in eyewear. ANSI impact resistance tests are designed to analyze protection on eyewear against possible high-mass impact and the high-velocity impact.

The metal spike test (more than a pound of weight) dropped from over four feet and the high-velocity quarter-inch steel shot test (traveling at 102 mph). In both tests the objects deflected off the lenses and no fragments of the lense or frame parts expelled during impact. These tests demonstrate the durability and safety of Oakley lenses.

No distortion, no blur, no shifting of objects

No kidding…Oakley uses a process called infusion molding which produces one comprehensive, single-layered lens. This process is done without diminishing clarity and unlike some competitors who use glue and various layers of film, Oakley High Definition Optics® (HDO®) gives you the clearest, sharpest image like no one else.

The benefit of Oakley's High Definition Optics® is being able to see the danger and then avoiding it. The lenses are made of pure Plutonite, a proprietary material that offers the highest level of optical clarity available in eyewear today.

To improve depth perception and color recognition Oakley has engineered a full spectrum of lens colors. The lenses are interchangeable, provide 100% UV filtering and help you match your optics to your environment.

Polar"Eye"zed

Everyone's eyes need protection from blinding, harmful ultraviolet light and some of the harshest light our eyes encounter on a daily basis is light that bounces off the surfaces of cars, buildings, snow, water and pavement.

Oakley Polarized lenses offer unbeatable clarity and precise filtering removing glare caused by these environments.

Soldiers Perspective

Oakley maintains US standard issue, which provides the US military and law enforcement eye protection.

The Oakley Ballistic M-Frame Glasses are APEL-approved and very popular amongst the US combat troops. Soldiers who wear them as primary eyewear find them to be lightweight, comfortable and notice that they do not slip while running
